Newly Enlightened
I just wanted to chime in- I have a 808M charger and use it several times a week to charge everything from my boom box d-cells and phone which runs on 2 AAA. I recently bought a pack of AAA batteries for my phone (the phone goes through them in about 3-4 days). When I first bought the duracell (1000mAH) batteries the MAHA could not seem know when the shut off the charging whether charging at 700mA or its soft setting of 350 mA. I blamed the charger. But after cycling the batteries a couple of times and using them for about a week- I am happy to report that the charger is shutting off appropriately at 1.46V! Even in its soft setting.
I am not sure why, perhaps it takes some time for the batteries electrolytes to distribute evenly(?) but the AAA's are coming off the charger even cooler and always at 1.46V. This is what my larger batteries where coming off at. So if you have this charger, and are not pleased with its ability to stop charging cycle the batteries a couple of times- its seems that it takes some time to "form" the batteries!
