i simple pulled out the driver (the best 1,2A 4,2V driver i know :twothumbs)
bent the anode contacts of the anode up so i dont get a short on the heatsink, and simply soldered the MC-E on the brass heatsink.

then i glued a spring behind the headsink which is wired to the anode of the MC-E m bin (752l@700ma) wg tint
Pulls 1,9A from a 4,1V 18650 and the beam is really floody and bright, with artifacts :sick2:
compared to a EX10 it has more that 3 times the output, compared to a white wall and ceiling bounce :D maybe arround 400-450 lumens out of the front

Anyway, this easy mod gave me finally a small WOOOOOW flashlight :grin2:

Re: L-Mini got MC-E'd

I just popped one of those in a KL4 head and was thrilled with the result too.
I was alittle bummed however, when I realized all of the sudden, all my other lights seemed too dim to see by. =o[

Re: L-Mini got MC-E'd

yeah right :p

btw the dim other flashlight is a EX10 on highest setting, modded with a hand selected R2 WG  ~140 lumes out of the front

compare the size of the hotspot, and the incrdible brightness of the spill :green:

short exposure to see the shape of the hotspots

longer exposure, thats how the beam really looks in "real"

all my other flashlights seem so dim now :candle:

Nice!!!Your L-mini is with a smooth or an op reflector?
If it can be achieved a bit more focus on the hotspot then we have an awesome light!:D
Maybe because of different beam pattern it needs to be put a bit higher than a xr-e?

the led isnt relly good centred, and could sit a little deeper in the reflector when i find an oring that fits behind the lens ill get a better beam.

btw, the brass heatsink is after 5 seconds too hot to touch.....i just cant get the off to the body :sigh:
