Quick question, can you put a 1aa body at the end of the L2T body and make an L3T (using 3 nimh cells)?

Doubt it. It would be difficult to join the bodies together. Also, I don't know how the L1/2T head will take to the voltage of 3 batteries as I think it was designed for 3 volts.

Interesting, I don't know. Its about 4.2V with 3xAA NIMH which is quite high. I'm sure someone with more knowledge than myself will answer you're question.

3AA nimh would be 3.6 at 1.2 each and on Fenix's site it says 0.9V~4.0V, so that answers that part, but will the bodies allow for it to work?

NiMH off the charger can be ~+1.45VDC. that's how "Tony M" came up with his 4.2V number. 1.2VDC is just the nominal voltage similar to how Li-ion cells are given as +3.7VDC when off the charger they are typically >+4.1VDC (up to +4.2VDC).

so, please consider the +4.2VDC number Tony_M came up with instead of the +3.6VDC nominal series voltage for three NiMH cells.

Both sides of the body have male threads, it won't work.

You'll also loose low mode until the battery voltage drop to a low enough number(the driver with be in direct drive when voltage is too high).
