I just got my Ra Twisty to mainly be used as one of my camping/hiking lights. I was thinking of getting some kind of higher quality parachute cord-like lanyard like the one that came with my D10, but a bit longer (maybe 24 in.?), but I'm not sure where I can procure one. I am curious where you all got your lanyards or how you made them, and how you attach them to your lights.

As always, :kewlpics: are welcome!

I like that selection of 550 Para Cord and I think I'll get some for my lanyard and camping purposes. Is there a way to make the lanyard a continuous loop though? I don't really want a big plastic knob on it, just a loop of cord with a flashlight attached to the end of it.

It`s way past my bedtime and Mrs. lumafist is furious that I`m still on-line.......:poof:

This is very, very easy stuff to learn...

Good topic!

Countycomm.com really has the best prices on cord-locks and ends - I think its a pack of 10 for like $3. Way cheaper than any other sites I've seen.

However, does anyone have a good source for the actual clasps that go onto the light? I feel like paying $3 a pop for those mcgizmo clasps is a bit much... Anybody have a cheap supplier?

Thanks!

Use a knot.

I like using elastic shock cord instead of paracord. I can make the elastic lanyard loop quite small, yet easily stretch the loop over my hand. For my purposes, an elastic cord lanyard is far more compact than a paracord lanyard.

Post #7 in this thread shows an elastic cord lanyard for an SF L4. Post #30 in this thread shows elastic lanyards for the SF 6P family.

If your flashlight has a hole for a clasp, just run down to Wal Mart (or whatever) and get a really small split-ring keyring.

Justin , I like this idea ..... but

Where can we buy elastic shock cord ?

Ordered 400ft of paracord, 10 cord ends, and 10 cord locks :D

Hopefully I am a quick learner with all these knots and get the kinks worked out before camping season starts and I'll need these lanyards. I really like that blog and I hope I can learn some of those things! Thanks for all the help ad links guys! :twothumbs
