I need to adhere my LED's to my heat sink and I think my Artic Alumina Adhesive got lost in the mail. Can I use the JB weld as a substitute? I don't know what kind of heat transfer properties it has-anyone have an idea?
Thanks, Eric

Mechanically it should work fine, but I've never looked into its thermal conductivity. What LEDs are you running?

Hi Eric:welcome:

I think some thermal grease under them -the maybe a few dabs of the JB around the edges to hold it in place?
The JB may be a little thick and might not transfer the heat as well.

Cheers
Dom

That's just how the thermal epoxies are made. You've got your epoxy, and your thermal transfer paste. Mix. You can certainly make your own. I wouldn't use just plain epoxy on anything that will be driven any harder than "minimal."
