Hi,
anyone can advice me about a Driver for this led CREE XR-E Q5,
i would like to supply the led with 3X RCR123A instead of
normal conf of 2X RCR123A.
Best regards,
Marco

because you will have more battery voltage than led voltage, you would want a "buck" type of driver. one that accepts a 12.3V maximum input, and drives a single led.

there are not as many cheap choices for that setup, as the cheap drivers would prefer you use 2 cells, and a max input of about 8-9V
any of the 3 curcuits you see here http://www.taskled.com/compare.html that specifically say BUCK would work. see the maximum input voltages are all sufficient.

the bucktoot http://www.ledsupply.com/bucktoot.php would work with a dismal output :-(

the power puck, a big sucker for a flashlight http://www.ledsupply.com/02008b-700.php would work comes in 700ma and 1000ma for that nice overdrive. better for a area light (sizewise) than a flashlight, but itll work.

a Downboy http://theledguy.chainreactionweb.com/product_info.php?cPath=48_49_61&products_id=218 with dismal output at 400ma

a Shark http://theledguy.chainreactionweb.com/product_info.php?cPath=48_49_61&products_id=1089 wont work without more leds.

oops, made a correction already.
