Hello group,
This is my first post, Hope I can find answers and help to my many doubts and questions now and in the future in this great community.
Now my question: Have anyone of the members here seen any of the new Led Obstruction Beacons in action? or have had a close look at them?
I am particulary interested in the new 20.000 cd cappable white flashing beacons wich so far as I know is only made by 2 companies Dialight and Obelux, if there are more companies that make these type of Obstruction lighting I don´t know.
I think these Led beacons are quite impressive, been able to produce 20.000 cd power in Day Mode. ( according with FAA and ICAO these lights should produce that ammount of light 360 degree and at 40 flashes per minute in daytime to be classified type L-865 for mark Tall telecommunications towers, mast and other hazard obstacles for aviation) then in night time these lights work at 2.000 cd power that can be white or Red.
I work with obstruction lighting and have to say that in normal regular strobe beacons that produce those 20K cd power I must say that is very very brilliant so much you can´t see it even at few meters away because your eyes will hurt...
What I would like to know if anyone around here have seen or taped in action these led beacons? I wonder how do they perform? any help would be very appreaciated.
Thanks so much for your info.
Alfredo Brito.
