Is anyone making an LED replacement lamp for the 2 cr123 951 and 3 cell M961 series lights?

I'm in there with you.....I am looking for an upgrade using a Malkoff or the like.

TAG, as I have a M96 that would love a upgrade.

M96 will take any of the D36 nailbender assemblies. M951 will take any of the D26 lamp assemblies. Getting the foam back in is the only problem.

I've been running a Malkoff M60 in my Surefire M952 XM07's for many years! Highly recommended! I tried to put a Lumens Factory D26 - LED (high output single mode) in there just to try it out and had some fit issues not allowing me to completely get the bezel on all of the way. The Lumens Factory has since gone into my Surefire 6P in my bailout bag. Great drop-in as well!

For the Malkoff, were there any modifications needed to get it to fit into the M952?

No mods needed! The Surefire M952 uses a P60 style lamp so it was a simple lamp swap! My 952 is anxiously awaiting the new Malkoff XP-G M60 drop-in which should produce 300 OTF lumens!!!

So far, I've put two Malkoff M60s into M952s. The only thing I needed to do was stretch the spring just a couple of millimeters. I was VERY scared & hesitant to do this because I didn't wanna mess up my M60. But I did it very carefully and works perfectly now!

I'll be sending a Z46 off in the next week or two for a little nailbender treatment. I just can't decide between the SST-50 or the XP-G! I'm thinking about sending him two Z46s and just getting one of each! I don't really feel like trying to get them apart myself!

I'll be using these on a duty rifle so it's gotta put out some serious light. I know some people will probably freak thinking that a modded weaponlight should not be carried on duty (except unless, of course, it contains a Malkoff!).

I asked nailbender about this and he states that he epoxies the boards and LEDs and uses a thread locker on the bezel, so use in a weaponlight should not be a problem. I will be doing some testing first to see what kinda abuse it might take. I'll have to doublecheck with nailbender to see if he'll do any repairs after I test and evaluate!

Any thoughts on this anyone?

I was able to put Nailbenders sst-50 in a M900a with 2x123 and an AW cr123 dummy. i tore the factory foam but cut a replacement pieve out of an old mousepad. You'll see what I'm talking about once you get the head apart.

That's why I'm paying $20 extra to send him the bezel and have him do it for me! I'll just end up tearing it all up! :twothumbs

Order for Malkoff placed. Thanks guys!

You can't go wrong with the Malkoff! You will be quite happy!
