Hello all again!

Well I'm looking for some ideas of light mounting. I ride a cheapo mountain bike for commuting and the occasional joy ride. The path I ride through most is usually lit with a very small amount of ambient spill from the street lamps about 10-15 feet away (separate bike trail) with parts of complete darkness.

The problem with my current set up (hose clamps) is that they are unidirectional, and my bike doesn't have a straight bar the you get from the bikes of old, so I'm basically limited to mounting two lights. I did get a Fenix mount to mount an additional one to one of my lights but I've seen some pretty awesome mounting systems, so I'm wondering how everyone mounts their lights. Seeing that I use hose clamps, you'd be right to guess that budget is paramount.

BTW, current set up - 2xL2D on hoseclamps for long range lighting (ie no ambient light), 1x yellow TK566 for close/medium range/signal lighting on a Fenix mount...

thanks in advance! I'm just interesting in seeing how everyone runs their lights... my set up is adequate, if not ideal.

L1Tv2 mounted to the helmet with twofish block for commuting (year round). When I hit the trails after dark I add in my modded Triple Shot on the 'bars.

Seriously though have you thought about just mounting to the helmet? Twofish are fairly cheap and VERY effective for this. They would also work well on the bars, but are fairly unidirectional as well.

Oh, and the L0D Q4 I carry on my keys works great with the fenix pocket clip on a ballcap in a pinch. Rather short battery life on high, but just right for a late ride home from the watering hole!

Smart do a couple of good mounts. All you need is a drill, nut and screw. Picture show the one on the first link. £1.50. Made from tough nylon it simply bends back to slip over the bars. Used mine for years. Second link is a more expensive unit. £6, but quality. Fits to my lamp same way a that pictured below. First one is for standard diameter bars, second fits both by means of an easily removeable rubber insert.
