I don't know about being "just like CPF" - hams tend to have less self-control than the average CPFer, and more outright bigotry - but eHam is the "big" place, particularly for emcomm. eHam.net forums
There are also the QRZ forums, as well as Hamforum.com - the latter being the better of the two.
Finally, when you get tired of all the folks on those forums who take themselves WAYYYYY too seriously, pop on over to hamsexy.com - nothing like its title would suggest (in other words, if you think you'll find girlz there, you haven't gotten the joke yet!)
