Ive had one of those 3 or 5 led lights that clip under the brim of your hat, and now im looking for something better(frankly im tired of the clips breaking). i like the hats that have them built into it along with the switch(neat) but all the ones i have are only good for what your holding up to your face, they have no throw! if its Absolutely pitch black then yeah, it will give you light to walk on, but i was thinking of mounting two Maglite Solitaires, under the brim? i saw this light and thought maybe they make some type of clip that would hold the light and clip to the brim? or any one know of a better clip on light that mounts under the brim,,, any suggestions??? JR

heres the link to what i saw

Button batteries :thumbsdow. Just wait till you go to replace the batteries and you end up paying more for the new cells than you did for the whole light

You'd be better off sewing on some elastic loops to fit your favorite small form factor light that uses standard batteries or use a NiteIze or Fenix headband to hold your small lights.

Good Luck!

well thats why i figured a maglite or another that took a aaa, battery.

Zeroignite,
i like having light on me at all times, and i like how the under brim light just hides and you never would know its there, but comes in handy... if i was to go out in the woods or cave diving, then yes i would get a headlamp.

All right, fair enough.
Yeah, it sounds like modding the hat may be the best pan at this point. You could use either elastics like tnukels said, or possibly use velcro straps.

The maratac AAA from countcomm.com works great clipped to a hat. Its nearly identical brother the ITP eos A3 would work too.
I clip my maratac to my hat all the time. Fairly wide beam is great for walking around, and doing work. 3 modes, decent run times. $21-$30 shipped depending on which model you get and where you get it from.

Almost any decent small light with a clip will work.

The new Quark MiNi lights look like they will be awsome for hat mounting, if you can find a clip for them.
