Lost my Novatac, now what?

She'd had a good run, man am I bummed! Had her four years, upgraded with the K2 and UCL a little over a year ago and made it a better light yet!
Somehow it got pulled out of my pocket today when cutting down a tree, normally I notice quickly, not today for some reason! I looked EVERYWHERE, but I can't find her, excuse me while I cry!

So what now? What's new and improved over it? I LOVED the UI once I got used to it it was intruistic, and I like the multi mode and size. It MUST tailstand, no if's and's or butts about that. So please enlighten me on the new fashion as I've been out of the loop for a while as I was so happy with my upgraded Novatac!

Another vote for the HDS EDC (aka Ra Clicky). Go for the High CRI model; you won't be disappointed.
 
Not that I can argue, and not that I can't say that the Novatac owes me a dime, I just hate to loose another $150 light! ( I got one of the original run lights)
Maybe I am gun shy, and my funds are certainly short, so I was looking for less expensive options!
 
Sorry to hear that, man. I also lost my Novatac with a K2 swap. VO tint .... my very absolute FAVORITE emitter of ALL time. :sick:
That was three months ago and I'm still reeling over the loss.
It's going to show up though ..... ! ;)

I'm hesitant to recommend them, but you could look at the new "cheapy" Novatacs (Storm / Wichita I think?) while you save up for a Clicky.
 
I just bought 2 Orange Ra Clickys. Much harder to lose because they are so visible. I better not lose one of these.

Was gonna mention those, since Oveready is putting up some tonight and tomorrow, but I noticed the budget concern.
 
Since you already have a good bond with the light, try the novatac storm for 69 bucks. Not going to be the same but sure it will fill the gap with your lost.
 
I don't know if the terrain you were in would warrant it, but can you beg, borrow or rent a metal detector? If you were in tall grass or weeded area it might be the ticket to finding your NT.

The home owner is going to do that for me, they have a metal detector and said they would watch out for it.
The problem is I don't know if I lost it there, or when I unloaded the brush at the green waste site. If it's at the greenwaste, I don't think it will ever be found! I bummed!
 
+1 on what Don Gwapo said get the Novatac Storm or be patient and get the Ra they come up once in a while on CPFMP.
 
I would not suggest one of the newer, cheaper Novatac's. They are not made of the same materials, or to the same specifications, and are manufactured overseas. From my reading, initial reports stated that they were flakier build quality, and prone to problems.


I would really suggest looking for a new/used Ra 140/140narrow on the marketplace. Most that pop up are gently used, and well maintained, and usually go for reasonable offers.
 
That sucks, feel sorry for you. It happened to me too. My HDS EDC U60 was stolen years ago. I've had several lights to replace it since then but none that I've liked as much as the U60 (which is much like the NT). What is keeping me from buying a new HDS/Ra light is that they have grown in size.
