Hi

I just received my MRV today, and I can not acces the other level. I am turning the body in relation to the silver bit, but it just goes off.

Any ideas? I'd rather not have to send it back to DX as I am in the UK.

One more thing,

Can someone tell me if full power is acheived when the body is wound in tight or when its off the stop?

I have opened the light, looks to that there is something missing in the level select switch. I assume the two tracks a shorted to get the other level, this can't happen on mine at the moment.

The MRV has full power when the body is tight together.

Be sure to turn it at the right place, i.e. between "pill" and battery.

Also, when in the adjustable levels, the difference between the max. adjustable level and max. is not that big!

I do not like the interface of the MRV, but at max. it is very good.

If you bought the 'kit' with a holster and some other stuff you probably got a one level variety of the MRV. It appears to have a different driver. Your choice is then to be happy with a great one level light, mod it with another driver or return it.

Ahhhh....that would explain it. DX have the Dual level in the spec sheet though. I don't see the need for the lower level on a thrower.....I just wanted to be sure I was at the full level.

Cheers chaps

Or it might just be a bad connection.

The level switch is placed in the "pill" on the side that screws into the battery holder. The center can be pushed in.

Also, the mode change is slow, i.e. when your turn of the flashlight, count to 3 before turning it on again, anything faster will not change mode!

I have had the assembly behind the pill apart. I don't see how it can actuate a change....it just compresses a spring when the button the battery compartment presses it. the metal cap that is pressed in isn't big enough diameter to touch the larger diameter track on the pcb.

AFAIK, the DX kit comes with the 2-stage clicky switch (originally from the D-mini). This is how they intend for you to access a low level.

As selfbuilt said, it should come with a two stage reverse clicky(maybe in the spare parts bag) that is used for selecting low and high.

I bought one from DX, but it doesn't change level with the tailcap. I usually hold the silver ring in the middle and twist the lower body. A slight click can be heard, and the output difference is easily noticeable.
The two switches I received with the item are:
- forward for momentary / twist for constant on (like SF G2)
- reverse clicky

Yes, it is a real cheap China "FAKE" send it back to DX. :shakehead
