I think before christmas maybe we might have 300 lumens. I may be wrong, but i dont track these things, so if you absolutly know some timetable, please share.

i mean in every day edc lights maybe i forgot to stipulate. I dont know anything about that p7, is it large?

Hmm surely thats got to be a battery sucker, do we have any stats on this, i mean like X lumens for X time ?

Max drive is 3.7v at 2.8A. It runs quite nicely off 4xNiMH or 1xLi-Ion regulated, or 3xNiMH or 1xLi-Ion direct drive

you need special battery setup for that , talking nimh or lions for the 2.8amps ....wheres the seoul p4 V bin and when is the R4 cree coming :candle:

You should be able to hit around 300 lumen at the LED with a cree Q5 or R2 driven at 1.5 amps. That should be possible with an EDC(bit with really short runtime on turbo). With a 3.7v RCR123, I'm guessing 10-20 minutes of full output.

For something with longer runtime, it should be available before the end of the year.

Look up Haitz's law. It's the equivalent of Moore's law in LED Land. It's hard to speculate on where we'll be at in a few months but we've been following his curve for the last 20-30 years, actually even exceeding it. Probably a good guide for the next several years until we hit theoretical limits.
