Just a question to someone with lux meter and interest in duplication of daylight intensities: I am wondering how intense is the lux of outside daylight in summer at high noon (mean US longitude.) and lux in winter with blanket at white snow.
My best guess is 3000 watts of halogens at 6 foot from wall might be in league with outdoor lux, with neighbor hood of 2400 reflection into house through well windowed in room with snow reflection. Just experience based guess.
Also, how much more intense is a narrow (reflecotor/lens) of a good (8 degree?) head lamp verses lens/45degree reflector of a typical worklight. [my guess, 40 lumen headlamp at 1 foot from wall verses 6 foot from wall on floor or 5 to 8 foot below working area= 100 to 150 times (inverse square law) 40 lumen, plus times efficiency of columation or 6 to 16 times 5000 lumens or roughly 3 to 4 500 watt work lights, or about 2/3 out door day light.]
Also, how bright a head lamp would be needed to columate light to significantly improve lighting (per ergonomic benefit to human eye/detail work) when working outside in daytime on a cloudy day or in shadey area?
