I'd like to do the resistance mod to a M@G switch, but I can't figure out how to remove it. Any idea's?

Thanks

Maybe if you were to put a stick of dyanamite in the battery compartment and screw the tail cap back on before the fuse burned down the switch would come out the other end...
To get the switch out, pinch the rubber boot over the push button and remove it. The button shaft is hollow. Put a 2mm? hex wrench down the hollow button shaft to loosen the set screw. The screw is on the far side of the body tube so that means the wrench will go in quite a bit. Once you loosen the screw several turns. make sure the push button is in the depressed position and slide the switch out the bottom end of the tube.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replys. I'll be working on it later tonight.

Another question though. Does anyone know if the Modded M@G switch can handle ~10Amps, or will it have to be switched (Pardon the Pun)?

On removing the switch, remember to insert the allen key all the way through until it engages the tiny screw at the end. You should feel some resistance as you turn the key anti-clockwise.

If I remember correctly, someone mentioned previously that the Mag switch can handle up to around 7A; 10A is prob a bit beyond spec.

Yep, 5/64 Inch = 1.98mm :lolsign:

Yup! I have a whole bunch of bicycle allen keys that were all metric and I went out to buy a set of imperial keys because I didn't realise the 2mm would fit as well..duh!

I am thinking about doing the resistance mod, but is there no interest in making an all metal drop-in switch?

How are you proposing that be done? The existing plastic switch seems to work well, avoids shorting to body, easy to mod, etc.
