M2X Extension mod

Bought the extension tube for my M2X and it can't be used with the cigar ring, which also means the lanyard has no attachment point. I had a good look at the end of the tube that screws onto the light body and noticed there is a "dead" section before where the thread actually starts.No thread in other words.Did some thinking.

My landlord has an engineering shop in the nearby town so I paid him a visit.He took a quarter of an inch off the tube and now it screws on tightly with the cigar ring fitted, and the top cell is around half a mm below flush at the switch end.

I can now use the light with two cells, cigar ring and lanyard with full functionality.

In town ATM, so will get some pics up later.He used a small cutoff saw and deburred it.

Light body end that has been cut.(Non threaded area was another 1/4 inch longer,which is approximate thickness of cigar ring)

Gave it a good test last night and it works fine.

Id do it but all I really have access to is a couple of hacksaws. That and I lost the damn ring gosh darn it. I am positive a few CPFers have attempted this and likely took off to much

If you know anyone with lapidary equipment it would be easy with a 6" or 4" saw.I have that but wanted to make sure I was on the right track so took to the landlord.If an engineer couldn't get it right then who could? No more than one quarter inch though,it works out to TWO rows of the checker knurling at most.

alright OP, Im going to find that ring for my M2X and give this thing a shot! The pics are greatly appreciated. Update-found 2 rings I know one came off my SRT6 not sure about the 2nd. The M2X ring is aluminum correct? The 2 rings I have found so far are plastic and identical. The 2nd is likely from my P12. Will keep searching. Searched for a while now. Even more frustrating is I cannot locate the nice plastic carrying case it came in either. Bought the light from GG have emailed them about a replacement. Hope they can hook me up seeing how GG and the US Olight office is in the same building as GG
