My Hound Dog is a standard (XPG, green pad) I think. I've had it for years, 900L output? Also, I don't have an MD4, my preference is the MD3.

I really like the small form factor.

Agreed, MD3 rocks especially since the newer KP 18500 cells with boosted 2200 mAh

I have same 900lm HD tho it doesn't get much carry time mainly because of the size of head. So it sits at my back door screwed to MD4

I don't mind large.. way back when I owned a 7c Maglite. Came very handy working in the shipyards. It was near the size of little league ball bats which are frowned on by authorities

The M61T has a nice low on an 18650. The M91T seems to work on anything, it's a beast.

I have been using my M61N on an MD2+extender= MD3. I like this size especially for its use. (A backup to my HDS rotary)

Looking for a bigger hotspot and more "wow" than my M61N. Will the M91 or M91T fit the bill better?

I live in an urban area so the M61 can get washed out by the pesky and ugly street lamps.

Lately I don't even bother with neutral or warm in an urban area. M61hot, old M30, or a cool Wildcat are the choices for me in a city. M91/T will be great as well.

I would think the M91 would be a good choice. If you run it on a single 18650 the low can get washed out, but on 3x123 or 2x18500, it's amazing.

I have a 'regular' Hound Dog plus 18650. The M91T can almost keep up with them with the bonus of being much smaller and lighter.

Also got a M61T that's my favoritest EDC. It punches above its class.

Didn't like HOT due to too high mAh and inability to use multiple cells and lower runtime.

M91T and M61T is a great combo.

I've read some posts asking for a hotter M61Hot.
I'm unsure what environment they're in that would require more output from a light that size.

If only to take advantage of the (relatively) high current delivery of cells such as the P42A/30T/40T3/et al. But going over that post in Porch with the melted TIR doesn't inspire much confidence in heat dissipation pushing 6A and above. A hotter HOT may need a Pyrex (or similar) lens.

I'm still going with a moth on rabies.

I would think the McClicky is the speed bump on our road to higher-performance.
I'm told that McClicky loses reliability past 4 amps.

Just went through the thread again. Since my last post here I have an M91BN in an MD2 with an 18650. No regrets. Great for pocket carry. Until recently I had it in an old MD2 and an extender (running two 18500) but the extender is causing a short of some sort. I have to get an MD3 especially with the wider lens.
