Lights: Hound Dog XT wo Diffuser, M91T, M61Hot, M61T
Camera on Manual. Didn't change anything from start to finish. Shutter Speed is a tad too slow.
I really like the M61T for an all-around light.

For a compact single cell light, I'm a big fan of the 61hot, though 91s are beasts for their size.

I played with the manual settings to capture the most realistic output.

To me, the main difference in the M91T and M61Hot is up in the trees.
If you don't need to spot a mountain lion 40 feet up in the tree while also seeing the ground....then you can make a strong case that the additional spill of the M91T provides no benefit.

I suppose the difference is in extended use. M61Hot draws 2100mah, M91T @9 volts draws 1250mah

I've read some posts asking for a hotter M61Hot.
I'm unsure what environment they're in that would require more output from a light that size.

The M61T for my environment is really nice. I don't have anything in the trees that need lit.

I used a digital camera on a tripod.
I looked into apps but then figured this was a great time to use the camera my wife bought me.
I think she was just as ticked that I finally used it as she was over me not using it.

I have the M91T MD3 and the latest version of the M61HOT 21700, there is very little noticeable difference between the two beams, the main difference is that the M91T has a whiter tint than the M61HOT.

They also have similar runtimes, M91T powered with 2 x 18500 2300mAh and the M61HOT powered with a 21700 500mAh, both will run on high for about 2 hours.

My personal preference is the M91T MD3 as I find the texture of the 21700 body, of the M61HOT, is not grippy enough.

Those were my exact feeling of the 2 and why i moved the 21700/M61HOT on.

Yall don't wrap y'all's flashlight bodies with grip tape?

What version M91T you got? no way am I getting anywhere near that runtime with mine.

Ya that's about what I'm getting.mine won't go 2 hours.

I haven't performed a run-time test, but the math doesn't support mine running 2 hours.
If I use Gene's 80% formula then I get:
(2300/1516)*.80 = 1.213 which converts to 1:13 minutes

The 61Hot seems hard to beat with the 5000mAh 21700.

Ya I can't fine my test but I was somewhere around 1:10-1:20. think you would need a couple 18650 to get 2 hours.

The M61T @ 4.076 volts draws 1040mAh
Now pair that head on a 5000mAh 21700 and you have a sweet setup.

I imagine the M61T is often passed by for either the hotter stuff or the non-Ts, but it's a nice all around head.
The only reason I ended up with it is @PoliceScannerMan recommended it for the Oveready twisty.

The lumens ratings have been bumped up since the older model M61T heads.. But it's a whole lot brighter on high beam running 9v rather than 3.4v

I didn't realize the M61T is a 9volt head. That makes it even cooler.
The M61T beamshots above are with a 3.4v
M91T is with two 18500s

The M61T is versatile, truly modular, I like being able to change out heads with all the body formats
I owned a Hot but traded it after getting the M61T.. I'm tempted to get the upgrade T just for lumen output comparison

Very unscientific test and only a one off but I did a 4.6 mile walk last Sunday morning with a MD3/M91T with 2 18500 2300 mah. I was gone 1 hour 16 minutes. It was 17 degrees outside. I kept it on high the entire time and it was still going as I came into the door.
I don't have a fancy charger but it showed 40% when I put them on to charge.
I never run it all the way thru my walks so that's like a month of use for me!
