The MAG BFL has returned with a better more impressive beamshot. This time different location, same water tower. I moved my custom heatsink/LED further into the BFL lens this way I was able to focus the beam alot tighter for the long shot. Also I made a light/camera combo tripod stand so every thing would stay in place while my camera was taking the picture. I think It turned out very impressive.

Here is the test subject. The MAG BFL

Here is the map and path of my shot. The distance is now .92miles or 1476 meters or 1614 yards!!!

And now the money shot. It is over exposed just a little, but pretty close to what the eye sees. Settings on my camera iso 80 and aperature opening is 6 seconds, the camera
is zoomed 12x optically.

Hope you enjoy, will continue testing and hopefully get a lux meter soon.

Wow - just saw this for the first time! What are you powering your mag with?

I've got a 2000 lumen lambda 3D mag and have been playing with more lux ... as they come they are a floody 45,000. I'd love to get about 200,000 out of it...

Yes I am using an cree xre-r2 driven at 1.4A, and to 18650 li-ion batteries.

Nothing special about the business end but ask and you shall recieve.

Nice mod, what lenses did you use if you don't mind me asking.

I want to have a go at building something like this in the future.

Awesome light

You might need to try a few lenses, I got the lens system from an old projection tv. You might not find the same one, It has two lenses in the enclosure. Good Luck

I am not sure the exact name, It is a three mode driver i bought from download on the buy/sell/trade forum. It is 1.4A high, 300ma med, and 30ma low I think.
