Dear All - this is mainly addressed to UK readers.
I came back from my parents' house this afternoon and joined the M180 at J4 heading West.
As I came up to it I saw a police bike, blue lights on by the off ramp.
I went round the roundabout and down the ramp. The bike was stopping traffic.
Just a little on I saw an odd convoy. 3 or 4 Police bikes, Police range rovers, a Porsche Cayenne with blue lights and then a good 20 plain white Sprinter vans. All with head lights on and most of the Sprinters had hidden/grille mounted blue flashing lights. Then a couple more Range Rovers and finally a police bike holding traffic behind it.
I think it came off at J4 and could have gone to either Scunthorpe or Lincoln.
The vans were unmarked, drivers in civvies. They wern't prison type vans.
Along with this were one or two radio traffic announcements that were vague and evasive about holdups on the road and the alternative routes were congested.
