modifying Minewt as rear flasher

I was thinking about modifying a niterider Minewt to be a rear flasher. any sources where I could replace the rear glass with a red one?
I haven't taken mine apart yet. it is probably about 1.5cm diameter.
Any other suggestions on how to do this?

Maybe a RED luxeon emitter...it would run a little brighter from the minewt circuit...as it has a lower Vf...
