Does any other PD owner do this?

I held back at ordering the Mule as I thought it will be too short for my hands. So I placed a Surefire F04 beam shaper and it fits perfectly :nana:

The flood is smooth wall of light :D

This set up  It could do what the Mule do and just remove the diffuser for normal beam. :nana:
The rubber boot is also a nice shock absorber in case the light drop head first and it prevent rolling.

GhostReaction,

IMHO, anyone who has a 1" OD light and doesn't have a F04 is missing a whole dimension of their light's potential!!

I'd take that a step further and include the F05/F06 as well. Those still see some use, but the Mule made the F04 a bit redundant.

'cept the F04 can only dream of the 115° even flood of the Mule...:D

I wasnt aware that its that floody
The mule is a very nice looking light and I got nothing against it.

Well, I got big chubby hands that even the TiPD is just a little small for me :D

Like what Don said; dont miss out on the F04 if you own a TiPD like I did all this while :ohgeez:

I found that the F04 actually degrades the Mule beam. But if you pop the diffuser out of it, the rubber from the F04 alone makes a beautiful bumper for 1" lights. I have them without the diffusers on BOTH ends of my HDS. Makes a leaning light tailstand too.

All four of my F04s slide right off the end of my Ti PD-S, sadly. Either the light is too narrow or too smooth, I guess. Fortunately, I don't feel nearly as much need to bumper the Ti lights! Like putting a bumper on a tank!

WOW, guess there may be a run on these!

Thanks for the idea... my PD has now truly become my most carried EDC... with this option it fits nearly every conceivable scenario... not that I wouldn't pick up a Cx2 if I could get my hands on one.

optics planet deliver the F04 within the week! Agree adds another dimension to 1 inch head lights....also a good protector.....

Great to hear that you got yourself the F04 for your TIPD :D

Now that somebody mentioned the CX2 :( :broke:

Hmm I wonder if my 27LT could fit into any of the other surefire diffuser?

Thanks Cave Dave for coming up with this and thanks to kelmo as well for originally discovering the cap fits. I just made a couple of these using the bottom of a 35mm film canister. WOW. I feel a little better that I was not able to get a mule. I have an F04 beam diffuser on the way but this is a great inexpensive solution.
