I'm going flashlight crazy and bought almost $100 worth of flashlights from wallymart. Also trying to find my minimag 3AA 3watt LED and have UltraFire 3W WF601D & Ultrafire C5 V2 coming in and hoping to find those K2 headlights at costco (sold out fast those things).

Beamshots taken from 5 feet away with a Nikon D80 manual 1/8 f3.8. Its about 2 steps down, and looks pretty accurate. I had it on remote control from my 17" laptop to compare the actual shot as they were being taken for as close accuracy as i can eyeball. I'll probably do some throw shots when i get my other lights in. Any tips on taking more accurate beamshots appreciated. Enjoy!

Added! Costcos $15 Rayovac K2 Headlight. Simply amazing! This this is incredibly bright, probably the brightest overall in my collection. Also got a Brinkmann genericy maglite 2D cell. It has a really strong focus for some incredible throw. Also added the C5 got 2 of these, seems a tiny bit brighter than C3, and some cheap lights i got from LED shoppe. I'm going too crazy with these lights so i'm putting up a C5 and the WF601D for sale, $35 shipped. Both were only used once for the beamshot test!

Very cool..... thanks for taking the time to post those, but it looks like you are having way to much fun! :grin2:

Thanks for sharing Hexium. Looks like you're having a fun time playing with all of your new lights.

That Makita beamshot kind of reminds me of a half-moon. . .

Thanks for sharing your luminosity. Enjoy!

I have the older X5 and the Tactical versions, they are some of my favorite lights. Though the beamshots don't show that that strong, they do offer a very nice even beam. Because of that it probably doesn't look as strong due to the low contrast. Those Rayovac headlamps from costco are just incredible. My dad bought 2 after he saw mine. I use it for night bike riding and it just lights up the streets. They are already sold out of the second shipment at my costcos. Up next i'm trying to track down the Rayovac 3D and get some more single LED lightsabers :D

thanks for posting!

i expected more light from inova T5....

edit: inova X5..

It's fun to try out the various lights you can find at Walmart etc. You should try and pic up a Fenix P2D or P3D Rebel100 from http://www.fenix-store.com.

The Costco Rayovac head lamp is impressive for a K2. The topic really throws the light. It looks brighter than a lot of lights because of it's tight intense beam.

Well....since we called that beamshot already, so let me call my the "shot of beam". These are all HID. From left to right: Mac Mini Hid 10W, Mac 8AA Hid 10W, MicroFire K500R 10W, NexTORCH 10W, WOLF-EYES Dragon 24W, MicroFire K2000R 24W and Amondotech 35W.
