The new FiveMega PAR36 heads arrived today.

This is the first setup; on a 3-segment Mammoth tube with an AW soft-start switch and 4x 26650 A123 cells, running a 13V 100W pin-spot.

Awesome!

I'm going to try a 12V 50W flood next.

It isn't bad. It's not my longest flashlight or my heaviest. It balances well, at the forward end of the knurling, just behind the switch.

I'm simply gobsmacked by this light.

I just took it outside for a few minutes in the dark, and it beats the pants off my hotwires. The beam, with the 4509 lamp (Under $10 for bulb, reflector and lens) is awesome. It's a square beam indoors on the wall...but outside, it doesn't matter at all. It out-throws, by a long way, a 623, 633 and 458, all in 3-4" reflectors.

I'm gonna try a couple of Q4509s. They cost twice as much, but have 4 times the estimated life, and supposedly a much better beam. If they work as described, I'm going to try to put together a group buy to see if we can get the price down.

So what kind of runtime do you get on the 26650 cells?

No idea. I've gotten 5 minutes combined between low and high so far, and haven't run the math yet.

Not long I'm guessing. A123 26650's are only 2300mAH @ 3.2v = 7.36Whr x 4 = 29.44Whrs.

Which should put us right around the 15-20 minute mark. But don't worry! A123 cells can be charged in like 10 minutes lol
