Hi ppl :)

I've been in this forum for some time now, but i've yet to find MY perfect little light and i thought i'd share this with you, just in case i find anyone that agrees with me :p so here is the low down on what would be perfect for me.

1) RCR123 or RCR2 compatible
2) Cree R2 (seems to be the current flavour ;) )
3) Clicky piston drive
4) Body knurling of the CR2 Ion
5) Focusable spot to flood (like the mag light but without the donut hole, now that would be so so nice....)
6) 3 modes low ( ~15 lumens) - high - strobe.

Feel free to pitch in ideas and i'll add them to this post (as long as they don't deviate too much from the current specs laid out).

My dream EDC would have ...

... a perfect size and weight;

... a perfect beam;

... a perfect UI;

... perfect power management;

... perfect dependability/ruggedness;

... perfect aesthetics;

... perfect warranty/customer service/company reputation;

... perfect price point.

My nightmare is that the perfect EDC will only be sold to perfect customers. :devil:

Nitecore EX10?

The perfect EDC must be built in to your body (maybe in the palm?) and be powered by the body's own metabolic process so that in order to refuel it all you need to do is eat a big fat steak. Of course the UI will be set up for each individual user...................

I hear that Kobe Beef increases both output and run times.

If I could find a suitable forward clicky for my Trustfire TR-801 (w/KD 2-mode board), then it would be perfect after I Gun Kote it.

Think oysters do a better job of that :D

But on a less risque note, my perfect EDC would be

  • 1 x AA with a system that allows it to use AA (sorta like how the Ultrafire WF-139 charger allows us to charge 14500s and 18650s)
  • Forward clicky with mode changing via spring loaded bezel twist
  • User defined brightness levels akin to the IBS of the Jetbeams
  • Even better than perfect efficiency allowing runtimes on high (min 120 lumens) for more than or equal to 2 hours
