Hi all,

carefully assembled it all together with the hi bulb in there, charged the batteries and there I went to meet the dark. A problem occurred immediate. The light just drops dead when switched on (irregularly) or, when switching it off it won't fire up again. Checked if there were any lose contacts but that is apparently not the case. Occasionally when I disassembled the light and put it back together it worked but it is far from reliable so I'm having the idea it was more based on luck.(drops dead again and again) What to do? Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi!

What happens when you turn the light on? Does it light up at all? Do you have the 6 AA adapter? Ive got the fivemega 6AA adapter, I have had problems with my ROP 2D. The problem was that the batterys lost connection because of the adapter. The contacts on the adapter didnt connect with the batterys, I had to tweak the metal surfaces on the adapter to get it to work. I have now taken two small magnets and placed them where the connection isnt good between the adapter and the batterys. It works ok now, but I really wouldnt trust having this light with me as the only light source!

Johan,

you're an angel. I have as well got Fivemega's 6AA adaptor and followed your advice. By tweaking the surface it works fine. So it was a contact problem! Ppff it is a big relieve. Big thanks:twothumbs

Thats good to hear! At first I thought you might have blown the bulb due to pulling the batteries in start after getting them off the charger!

I found that my 6AA>2D adapter was a little too short, and I could not thread the knurling nut on with the cells installed. I had to do a little DIY to fix it. However, I will order another one because my DIY fix does not completely encapsulate where the two cells meet. I'll order another one as they become available with the hope of better luck.

maybe mabye yr contact point isnt solder well, including the bare wires.

check the battery pack, see the amps before and after usage ....

good luck:candle:
