Got hooked up by a fellow in the marketplace a while backk and had a couple of sheaths made for it...
Things I'm having done to it:
1) Modify the rectangular choil into a conventional, round one, taking into account that the new one must not be bigger in width than the current rectangular one, as it'll mess up the detent on my Kydex sheaths.
>Beadblast the raw edge from the newly cut choil and break the edge
2) Drill out and replace the two (2) current G10 handle bolts (Torx) with two (2) Strider spanner ones.
3) Regrind the edge to get rid of the unevenness and the blunt heel.
*Do not beadblast the new edge*
4) Break the sharp edge from the sides of the exposed jimping (ie, the portion not covered by the G10 slabs) and the entire spine, leading down to the tip of the blade.
>Beadblast the raw edges
As well as stonewashing the entire blade, as the beadblasting is getting scratched up.
Brendan
EDIT: I realize the sheaths are not made for the flat ground solution, but were too lazy to return them as they still work.
