I've been craving an H30 with a warm emitter for some time now.
Blindasabat had his at the Michigan Get-Together and I finally had a chance to see one in person.
If it every becomes available with the tint I prefer, I will buy one.
Until then..... I made my E1e into a Zebralight H30 wanna-be!
I call it the E1Z
I used a brass pill with a cree from some random light around here for the driver and heatsink. I swapped the LED.
One side of the heatsink was sanded down flat for the emitter.
I drilled out the reflector using the handy Uni-Bit.
The emitter (Cree Q3-5A) had to be placed in first with the thermal adhesive and then the driver/heatsink could be inserted.
It does get warm so I'm still going to add more heatsink to the top.
Carbon fiber was used in place of the window.
A McE2s switch with a 60 ohm resistor gives me a nice usable low.
A 2-part epoxy resin will be used over the LED to help against ripping the top of the emitter off.
It can be run on CR2, CR123, RCR123, 17670, 18650
There is a beamshot below
Also pictured if the E1Z head on a Arc-E-series adaptor and a CR2 Tailcap and a CR123 tailcap.
