Last week I won an Apple iPod Nano 3G, so this week I went in search of a case for it. In the iPod/MP3 player aisle, Walmart had a Case Logic Universal Pouch (WUP1, #63-2400767, UPC 085854111638) that looked promising. For $5, I thought I'd give it a try. When I got home, I decided it wasn't quite what I wanted for the Nano. Being a bit of a bag junkie, I started to toss it in the closest with my other bags and such. On the way to the closet, I got sidetracked by some of the San Diego fire coverage and set it down on the table, next to my Ti-S27-PD, which I'd been wanting a storage case for. After watching the coverage, I went to pick the pouch up, saw it sitting next to my TI-S27-PD, and thought, "hmmm......"
As snug as a bug in a rug.
The double loop closure helps to keep the S27 nice and safe, even when the cord lock isn't engaged.
The double loop closure also means that fast extraction isn't an option, short of cutting the cord. Since I'll be using the pouch to protect my 27 while it's inside a carry bag, I'm not worried about fast access.
I seriously doubt that a drawstring pouch could be designed to fit the S27 better. The pouch is padded, so the S27 is protected from damage fairly well. The interior of the pouch is the same nylon material as the outside, so there's nothing to collect dust inside, helping to keep the window clean.
I'll be buying several more of these for my other lights.
A Ti-XR19-C will also fit, or any of the other 1x123 lights that I've seen with a McR-27-sized head or smaller.
If your 27-PD needs a soft case, I highly recommend these.
FYI - Case Logic's standard version of this pouch, the UP-1, adds a circular carabiner, but for $5 more, they can keep it, IMO. I suspect that the WUP1 is a Walmart exclusive.
