I have never owned a P60 light but I am very interested. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it. Here's what I'm looking for:

Host:
- I want a very good quality host capable of using 18650
- I want it big enough that I can cary it in a holster (ie: md2)

Drop-In:
- something very bright, not too concerned about throw

I am asking for help because all I see for P60 drop-ins use CR123 only, but I like the 18650. I have checked out Malkoff so far.

Thanks in advance!

In a 18650 format:

SST-50 with 2.5A driver from Nailbender = 470ish OTF lumens
Malkoff MC-E P60 w/ 2.5A driver cool = 480 OTF

Moddo Tripple with 2.8A driver and XP-E = 560 OTF (no longer made)

Moddo Tripple XP-G R5 = 1400 emitter lumens OTF to be tested. ( no longer available for purchase)

That leaves you with P60s from P7, MC-E and SST-90 to explore. I would suggest to get on the wait list with Anto.

His is a cooper slug and potted XP-G R5 with much potential.

Still; the Malkoff XP-G drop-in is a must have no matter what you decide.

I think I will go with Malkoff but I still need to choose a host. On the Malkoff site the M60 MC-E only states two CR123. Can I definitely use an 18650?

Thanks again!

To get full power you need 2 li-on cells or 6V.

You could run 2 18500 AW cells in his MD3 body and MD2 bezel.

Try a Solarforce L2 L2M - 18650 or L2P with the low voltage pill .. [ 0.8-4.2volt ]
Will get you there for a good price ... And give you something to play with and to make comparisons .
