Need HELP with my E2D

I got a E2D in a trade and love it. I couldn't keep it stock so did some looking. I got FiveMega's Bi-Pin socket and AW's protection 17670 1600mAh battery. The battery doesn't go down all the way in the E2D tube so I can't put the head on. It looks like the bottom of the battery is getting stuck. Has anybody had this problem?

Maybe try the battery in the tube without the tailcap? I think I may have read that some had the bodies bored. My memory is not good I usually run my e's on one or 2 cr's or rcr's
 
I did,the battery stops with about 1\2 inch till the tail cap. FiveMega didnt say that I had to bore the tube.
 
There are very few E series that will take a 17670 battery. Some people will bore the body using sandpaper on a wood dowel.
 
The E series bodies seem to have a taper, mine does the same thing. Removing the label on the cell can help, but mine is still a bit tight for that and sanding is an option to fix it.

My scoutlight takes a 17670 though, I'd have thought if any light was going to have tighter tolerances the weapon lights would.
 
Forget the dowel and sandpaper method. I recently tried it on a E2E bod and after a few hrs i gave up. I then used a rounded file and got the job done much quicker. My E2D body is the same, where a 17670 stuck out about 1/2 an inch, my E2E body only had it stick out a few millimeters, had I used the dowel method on the E2D body it would of taken a week or two.

How did you use the wood dowel and sandpaper? It should not take that long.
I usually get a wood dowel smaller in diameter of the hole to be opened, then cut a slot in the middle and insert a strip of semi coarse emery cloth ( I prefer emery cloth over sandpaper) and put the wood dowel in a drill and remove the amount of metal required.

Nice touch, most methods I read assume hand twisting!

It would have taken several weeks by hand. Using a drill with emery cloth on a wood dowel acts like a honing tool where the emery cloth expands during rotation, and the longer the emery cloth strip the tighter the fit to increase sanding pressure which is farly quick. Plus it leaves a nice finish depending on the grit of the emery cloth.

Thank you to all that help. I used a bench drill with a hone tool. Worked out perfect. Battery fits with no problems. Just no Ano inside the tube, Is that bad?
 
No, not bad :)
Shouldn't have been any ano inside the body to begin with, just a coating to prevent oxidization of the bare aluminum. Since it's not a contact surface where an electrical connection is made, it won't matter.
