I have some medical equipment that uses 4aa the charger is a v2833 I'm needing some reliable long lasting batteries. Also is this a very good charger or do i need to look for a better one?

Reliable long lasting batteries are eneloops. There are others. In general try to get batteries described as "2000 mAh", not more, and that have "PreCharged and ready to use" on the packaging. These are normally more durable and longer lasting than other types.

Your charger is OK as a cheap charger. The charging current is too low to damage AA batteries, but you must use it carefully. Always charge empty batteries in matched sets of 2 or 4, and stop charging after 16 hours as it says in the instructions. Do not leave batteries in the charger longer than this.

Reliability is paramount for medical uses. I wouldn't consider anything other than Eneloop.

Some folks like to buy from Amazon but for foreigners like myself their shipping is a deal killer. Make sure you buy from somewhere trustworthy, as the Eneloop is good enough for fakes to have occasionally surfaced.

While you are at Thomas Distributing, you might consider the Maha Imedion LSDs. I have both the Eneloop and Imedion AA's and happy with both. However, Imedions has higher capacity. See the chart about third of the way down on this thread. Imedion is abbreviated (IME) and Eneloops (ENL).

Hope this helps.
