Does anyone out there know if recharagable lithium AW's R17670 (2x123 size) 1600mah will be safe to use in a Surefire E2D LED Defender?

Appreciate any comments!! :D

Theoretically yes as it is only one rechargeable cell. The light may or may not run in full regulation. The big issue is if it will fit inside the body or not. Seems like I tried ounce before and the cell would not go all the way inside the body.

AFAIK all newer Surefire lights can't take 17670 batteries. My LX2 can't, my S2 Stratum can't, and my AZ2 can't too. All thanks to folks who complained about their CR123 rattling in their lights and sending in for either a full refund or an RMA. This time round, Surefire had to ensure that the battery tubes are tight enough to fit CR123 in there... snugly.

Alright, thanks bud! I went ahead and bought 50 123s from 4sevens for $79...should last me awhile. :grin2:

Since I had a charger and rechargeable batteries inbound, I used this as an excuse to buy a Quark Turbo 123x2 and bought a 18650 body so I can use the 2600s! :faint:

my both my 200 lumen E2DL fits AW 17670. although very tight, and i have to use the eraser end of a pencil to poke the battery out.

my E2DLs are brighter when using 2x cr123 as opposed to 1x li-ion.

although ive seen and read many that have used 2x AW rcr123 without any problems.

a safer alternative is to use 2x LiFePo rechargeables.
