Built a FM1909 Hotwire using a Magelennium 3x26500 body. The quality of the machining on this host is top notch. The HA finish is a little more glossy than I prefer however, it does match the KT-4 fairly decent. The other benefit to this host is the ability to use a AW softstart in the tail cap.

With the AW running low power 30% the runtime is approx 90 minutes with a few short bursts of 100% here and there  I checked my cells and they were at 3.1 V ready for a fresh charge!

I am very impressed with this light and will be using often

Hey - is that my KT4 head? ;)

That looks like a rockin' light. I've had my eye on that 3x26500 body for a while now. How is the balance?

Would you be able to post a pic with that light next to a M6 for comparison?

The balence is excellent. One of the reasons I like this light. Later this week I will have my M6 and will take a few pics compairing this the M6 and a BigLeef

It is about 2.5in longer than a M6.

I have the exact same combo and it is a very nice bright torch. I as well like that it takes the softstart switch.

I do prefer the compactness of my tri-bored 1185 Mags though. The 1185 Mag has more side spill (I'm using a LOP reflector in my Mag) and the hot spot seems more intense. I'm going to try a Mag head on my 3x16500 Megalennium body tonight and see if that makes a difference.

This could be a lethal weapon if you grabbed the head and hit someone with the knurly part of the body.

Yeah - I picked up FMs 3x26500 black D36 light with a 1909 in it. It is a complete flood light - but brilliant as can be out to about 200 ft.

I'm curruntly running a similar setup to what you have in my M6 with a 1909 in the KT4 head, but 6xIMR16350 in the standard battery carrier. Runtime is probably 10-15 minutes at full brighness - but I will never need that much light for even that period - so it's just hard to justify the 3x26500 Mega purchase.....

Not sure how much you have played with focus on the 1909 bulb in the KT4 head, but I have found that when set the bulb about 0.5-1mm forward of the ideal focal point for throw I get a brilliant wide floody spot still with some serious through.

Thanks for the comments on this. I noticed that setting the bulb high produces a shadow in the center of the hotspot. Looking at the focal point on my light its about 2.5MM

Regarding your comments on the M6 thats a great light and I really like it. For the 1909 I prefer the larger cells, only 3 to charge and monitor for voltage. When keeping the light at 30% with the AM ithe run times are excellent.

What voltage do you recharge your IMR cells at?

Thanks
