New and old Streamlight Stinger LED

I wish I could compare the two. I have the old version, and I think it is a great light. Does anybody know if both the old and C4 versions take the same battery? I ask because I have 2 3000Mah NiMH cells for mine, and if I upgrade, would like to be able to use them. Also, if anybody has seen the difference in the two, is the new version worth buying??

Their identical, except for the LED (old used a 3watt Luxeon, C4 uses a K2 Flipchip). Output for the C4 is much better than the 3 watter, but both suffer from inconsistent, ringy beam patterns.

I don't own either one, but have seen them both in action side by side. The newer "C4" blows the old model away for output. They take the same battery and use any of the stinger chargers. You can save money by ordering without any charger since you already have one.
