Hello everyone,

I'm a new member here but I have been lurking and enjoying the various posts over the past year or so. I'm still fairly new to the world of high performance flashlights, but what I have I do enjoy.

As of yesterday I'm the owner of a brand new Fenix TK40. I got it on eBay for $131, including free shipping and a free pack of 8 AA alkalines, so I thought it was a pretty good deal. I paid for it on Friday evening and it was in my hands on Monday morning – can't beat that I don't think.

Anyway, I've been reading up about how everyone raves about the Sanyo Eneloop batteries and I thought that I'd give them a shot in my new TK40. Please keep in mind guys that I'm a newbie still, so could you please explain to me what sort of performance advantages there are to the Eneloops? Will I be able to just use my TK40 longer with them or will there be a real noticeable performance advantage to using them compared to the cheapo run of the mill Duracell alkalines that I have way too many of sitting on my shelf?

Also, what charger do you recommend for the AA Eneloops? I was looking at this nice one, but what do you all think about it?

While looking at the Battery Junction website, I found their AA Eneloops:

They're $11.49 if I buy two 4 packs. How is that price?

Thanks in advance for any help you might have.

Noob question.. Why Eneloops?

Eneloop Combo Packages?

I'd suggest lots of reading and searching (as most of your "new" questions have already been answered here) Good luck :)

*I'd personally buy the 8 packs if this is going to be for the TK40, less chance for....discrepancies

depoetco.com
and
thomasdistributing.com

both seem to be highly valued companies around here. I've personally had very pleasant business with depoteco

*additionally, when your alkalines leak all over your new shiny flashlight....you'll be :banghead:

In the end your most likely to get a better charger to fit your needs.....do a search like what was suggested above on the Maha c9000 charger.

I'd get a maha 8 cell charger so you can charge them all at the same time. The C808M, C801D, or C800S will all work well for that purpose.

Looks like a good deal for $27.95 (For the must-have-MAHA people, that charger is sold elsewhere as MAHA LCD PREMIUM)
