Hey guys, this is my first post on this forum. I have been told this is the place for tons of flashlight info. I have had streamlight stingers (original incan) for work for quite some time. I have absolutely no complaints with them at all. Recently I have been looking for a good light alittle smaller than the stinger, one to carry around and have on my bedstand. The streamlight strion seems to fit my bill pretty good. The price is right, its smaller than a stinger and although not 100% necessary I like its rechargability factor. I see they have the C4 LED strion now available, I have not seen one in person but my friend has a C4 LED stinger and I was pretty impressed with the output. What do you guys think? With LED's like the c4 should I even consider the incan version? I am a technician and durring the day the LED seems very bright, but my concern is it won't cut the dark like the ican. I know the runtime on a LED is better, but are there still reasons to get the ICan version?
Thanks in advance guys, I hope to get alittle more into lights as I have a growing obsession over them :p

The CRI of the LED will be lower than the Incan version, but the LED version will be brighter and fairly well regulated with longer runtime.

If tint and color rendition are important go with the incan. If tint isn't that important and you want the higher output go with the LED.

The LED will perform just as well as the incan in most circumstances, but there has been some discussion about incans being able to cut through smoke and fog better.

Of course, you could always mod the Strion LED with a Neutral tint LED, which is a good compromise between Incan and LED.

Streamlight uses the term "C4" to describe more than one particular LED. Its really just advertising, as the LED could be a Cree XR-E or a Luxeon K2, both are used in lights described by Streamlight as using the C4 LED.

The Strion package is hard to beat, incan or LED.
