New Nitecore D10/EX10 SP flashlights

135,35 and 2 lumens

nice

fifty quid? :duh2:

ill buy it here

sounds good...
wondering if it has memory on hidden modes as well

Ohhhh, how I wish they would make one of these to take an 18650.

That would entice me, but I must say that I much prefer the original UI over this new one. The infinitely adjustable interface is just so nice.

Looks very nice, but I don't like the way that the UI is done. Also, I would like a 60 lumen level in there as well.

It wouldn't be too bad if it rmembered the last level... I just don't like cycling through levels when I want to change them.

All very good reasons why I like the variable setting feature of my old D10. About all that's gained with the SP is fast access to a medium setting. But as you point out, different people like that medium setting at a different level. This new version seems to me like getting less for the money (maybe more money, if the price is higher). Hmmm, less for more... did the government take over Nitecore? :D But in all fairness, I'm sure there will be some people who like the change (it remains to be seen how many).

Good to see the variable brightness is gone, it sucks not knowing if your runtime is cut short a half hour because you set it just a little too bright. But this UI is definitely too basic.

It might have been nice if they went for a 'set it and forget it' style, where perhaps holding the piston down cycled between two modes, and some sequence of double clicking allowed you to program what those two easy access modes might be out of a choice of 5 or 6 possible brightness levels (like the Quark Tactical UI).

It would be nice to see more lights with a Piston Drive, that way there would be more variety in UI. The smooth silent operation of the PD has really grown on me.

I have one of these arriving any day now from four 7's website ... not sure if i am looking forward to receiving it now ....

You will really like it, it is just a bit different than the original version. Even though I said I preferred the older UI, I'd buy the new version if I didn't already have a D10.

I really don't like the original UI, so this new version sounds good to me.

Thanks for the affirmation guys ... this is going to replace my fenix p1d on my key chain so i plan to use it for everyday use ... does the nitecore have memory mode?

It will remember your last setting.
