Can someone recommend a 1XAA or 1XCR123 with a strobe function (for law enforcement purpose). I just ordered a Fenix L1D thinking that 90 lumen is sufficient, then I found the 4 in 1 Combo (P2D and L1D) is probably a better deal and put out more power (120 lumen with 1XAA and 180 lumen with CR123). Not sure if it's too late to change the order.

Anyway, long story short, my department doesn't supply a whole lot of CR123s and I'm tired of buying them myself, so AAs are probably my first choice, thanks!

The NiteCore Denfender Infinity is probably the brightest 1xAA with strobe, but the L1D is also one hell of a light. Wherever you ordered (Fenix-Store ?), just send them an email or leave a voicemail requesting a cancel/change of order.

The L1D might work out. With the head bezel tightened, the light will be turbo mode only and a soft press or two clicks and you'll jump into strobe. A soft press or two clicks and you'll jump back into the turbo mode again.

If you need the light to be strobe only, there's always Olight flashlights (now being sold at Fenix-Store). It has a memory function, if I recall correctly. So you could leave it in strobe all the time.

I would not recommend any current AA light with strobe for law enforcement purposes.
Almost AA light I've tried has a fast blink rather than a true disorienting strobe. Most are only around 7 or 8 Hz.
The couple that do have a decent 15+ or so Hz have atrocious UIs and use reverse clickie switches, so that if you barely bump the switch it will change modes... then you'll have to cycle thru to get back to strobe.

I don't think so the Olight can be programmed to be in strobe only. It will only remember the last brightness setting. Soft click for it to go to strobe mode.

My Olight T10 has fast strobe, but it won't remember being turned off in strobe mode. You still have to activate the light with the reverse clicky (it does remember the brightness level) and then soft press to achieve strobe again.
I also purchased an aftermarket tailcap switch for Surefire P-series lights that does strobe in a similar manner, but holding the switch in to start goes directly to strobe.

Thanks for all the advices. I haven't heard from the Fenix-Store about changing the order yet. I'll try out the L1D first, maybe a NiteCore Denfender Infinity later if the L1D is not bright enough or the strobe is not fast enough. Thanks again!

The Fenix has a reverse clicky, whereas the Nitecore has a forward clicky. Because of this the Nitecore is more useful for law enforcement.

The Nitecore is the brighter of the two, but it isn't significant.

The Nitecore also has a lower low level allowing longer runtime in emergency use (25 hours for Fenix versus 45 hours for Nitecore) and a more discrete light if needed.

If this is for LEO proposes, I would recommend neither and get a 18650 powered light(Or at least the Nitecore).

But think the Nitecore is the brightest one with strobe.
