Newbie trying to do an osram ostar on a motorcycle?

I have the below pictured bike and would really like to get rid of the stock 30W halogens for something tricker and brighter.
I was thinking of putting in 100 white LED but saw the osram stuff.
ANy hints to point me in the right direction?

Are you speaking off the new 1000 lumen osram? If yes, then not many people here will be able to help since I don't think anyone has one of those LEDs yet.

If you want to go LED, go with a cluster of Seouls or Crees and use reflectors to direct the beam. If you want the 1000 lumen rating, I'd say you need at least 8 driven at max (3.7v, 1 amp) to get 1000 lumen out the front.

LEDs are great indoors but outdoors where you need good color rendition, nothing beats an incandescent.

Agreed, and you also get more light, but anything that doesn't have to do with changing the bulb will require modifying or making a new reflector and optics for the lighting to work the way you want it to.

1st advise: forget those 5mm leds

HID, maybe when its in the 30 W class, a 10 W is useless at that application You want, but still. Except for the color (which I dont like) there is the round beam - not goot for a vehicle.

imho its best to try fitting a higher power bulb into. If thats a normal light, it should be some H4 50/55 W --> get a 100/100 in.

Go HID, you can run the highest watt set up you can afford sence its an ORV, and its a fairley strate forward install. I am going HID on my EX250 as soon as I can aford it.
