I've seen reviews of the newer Nite Ize 1W LED upgrade, and also older reviews of the 3 LED upgrade as well.

What I haven't seen, and I'm sure they are here somewhere.. is a comparison between the two.

If I have the 3 LED already, is it worth upgrading to the 3W single LED upgrade?

How do they compare in brightness?

Thanks for directing me to anything that's been written (I did try search, and couldn't find what I was looking for) or sharing your experiences.

I also think you must mean the 1W upgrade, but maybe there is a 3W out there now. They aren't really designed for the same purpose, IMO. The 3 LED upgrade is for close up work, and it comes in a few different colors. The 1W upgrade is more like the original incan bulb, but with longer runtime and no bulbs to burn out. I'd suggest trying the 1W (or 3W if there is such a thing) and you'll probably like it if you like the 3 LED version. Mag does make a Minimag with a 3W LED already in it, in case you didn't know.

Yes, I meant the 1W single led vs. the 3 LED upgrade.

I have the 3 LED already

I also have a Mag LED 3AA, so know that Mag LED blows Nite Ize out of the water.

Just wanting to see how big of a difference, there is between the two Nite Ize upgrades

The difference is huge. The 1W Nite Eyez is a great upgrade for the Minimag. However it is not as good for throw or spill as the 3W Minimag, but close. So if you need to buy a Minimag, buy the 3W. If you already have a Minimag, then upgrade it.

FWIW the $29 Brinkmann 3W LED w/3AAA at Target blows the 3W Minimag out of the water for throw and spill. Plus it runs about 7hrs to 50%
