I read all of the HUGE threads on both lights. I haven't bought a new flashlight since the P2 bin of Cree. The D10/EX10 seem to have a HUGE following. But the appeal of a slightly better bin of cree and ability to drive it extremely hard for times when it's needed looks appealing too.

I'm not aware of any direct comparison of the two lights, so which would you choose?

Since you have read all the reviews on the 2 lights.
You just need opinions, why don't you just start a poll?

For me, it's D10.

All of them.
I have used the LF5XT for some time now and am very happy with it. The D10 and EX10 have not shown up yet (I hope they will be here very soon), so I can not say how the are compared to the Liteflux.

I was in the same boat, I ordered the LF5XT, D10, and EX10. :)

I'm still waiting on my Natural LF5XT, it shipped 7/1, so I should have it this week.

I have both lights. The LF5XT has better tint, MUCH better beam quality, more functions and imo is better to operate. The D10 has a lower low, a lower price and piston drive. The D10 has better knurling, but the LF5XT has the genious double "cigar grip" grooves.

Where might one order this fabled LF5XT?

Thanks for the link and your honest opinion about the D10 and LF5XT. It's becoming a little difficult to sift through the hype aftermath.
Yes, there's an enormous amount of information about these lights. And it's hard to sift through all that info when you haven't been following it from the beginning. Especially with the D10/EX10 there is extremely long threads with part 1,2,3,4 and so on. Hard to find the useful info in all the hype and the "non informational" stuff.

has anyone run a comparison between the two? i am asking the same question.
Not much detailed comparison review yet, unfortunately, because the LF5XT has been so limited.

From those who have both, some say get both as they are different beasts, others prefer the LF5XT (like Mighty82).

I'll post a detailed comparo once I get my LF5XT. I suspect I'll love both...

Selfbuilt have both lights on the way, so there will be a good comparison review of both lights as soon as he gets them. Then we can compare beamshots, output etc. to all the other 1AA lights.

How did he go overboard?

With his over-the-top (if only for good measure) additional purchase of the EX10. And in re-reading, I see that you and WadeF made exactly the same purchases, so I'm afraid I'm going to have to place you both in the "keep an eye on these people without looking directly into their lights" category. :p

And, oops, I guess that goes for nexcro, too. Dang, did I miss anyone else?

I, of course, purchased only the D10 and LF5XT -- which puts me in the company of those making only what I like to refer to as "reasonable purchases."
