hmm, this thread has me wanting a uv led. Just for fun, i just put a red cree in my EX10. Seems to be a pretty good host. Now i gotta buy a couple more Ex10s, a uv led and a warm white to drop in one.

Actually, I need to set my firewall to block CPF and CPF Marketplace but that's too hard to make myself do it

Yes, you are correct. Circuit is boost only and it will be very very bright and red hot. Perhaps the D10 is a better host for a red LED. You will have to use alkalines or NiMH in that one.

Does the Cree 7090UV show the strip on the $100 dollar bill?

The only UV light i came across that showed the red strip for the $100 is the ArcUV, but then again I haven't experienced the Cree UV..

I don't have a $100 bill (wish I did LOL) but the Cree does make certain identifying marks glow on my CC and drivers license. The Arc is 375nm while the Cree is around 390nm IIRC. Identifying marks generally flouresce under a wide range of near UV wavelengths for obvious reasons.
