Just thought I'd show off a couple accessories I made so that I can safely carry my SPY whenever the mood strike!

The left one is not exactly my best work ever, I'm still trying to master the box stitch. The one on the right is an absolutely perfect fit. I loosely modeled it after ATOH's holester, but left out the hole and used a belt loop as also on the flap version since I have never trusted belt clip versions no to fall off.

This sure is a sweet light.

Sad to say, it may even bump my Ti PD-s to a backup role and I never thought that was possible.

Very nice work.
I have just been carrying mine "naked" in my jeans pocket.
My briefase for work, has a nice suede pocket during the day.
Did you put a small piece of leather on the inside , over the metal,where the snap might touch the light?

We need a pig in a blanket picture! I'd love to see the 007 parked in the right hand holster.

Good quality work. :thumbsup:

You're right, the box stitch is tough to get looking perfect. Have you tried poking your stitching holes in one piece before assembly, then using those holes as a guide for punching thru the other piece? Still, very nice work indeed.

Thanks for the kind words!

Yeah, I did. My main problem is I've been too lazy to order an awl. Most things I make I can just use a 1/16" drill. Unfortunately, that doesn't work too well for this.

I chose to hijack this existing thread instead of opening a new one, as it is about EDC, sort of...

How do you guys to always turn the knod the right way? More output if you want more, less output if that's your plan? I've tried for weeks now to incorporate the right way to turn into my flesh and blood, to make it instictive, no way! Often I really have to think about it, and still I turn the wrong way! :eek:

If you look at the light before you, clockwise gives more output. So, If you have it in your hand, and there are two ways to hold it, you must turn counterclockwise. Mostly I turn the wrong way, when I just changed the hand.

What is the trick to get it once and for all??? :thinking:

You are going to get a lot of answers here. I will throw mine in here too.

I use my finger to to turn it up and my thumb to turn it down. Both always pulling (not pushing).

In time it gets programmed and you no longer have to think.

Cheers
Dave

Finger!...thumb! Caveman:crackup: I added a tiny servo motor with a hidden pressure switch :grin2:

I'm left-handed, so while I owned my 007, held it in my left hand, in a switch-down grip, and used my thumb to control it. Because of the extra grip provided by the o-rings and the smooth switch, I could simply scroll the brightness up by flicking my thumb up and scroll down by flicking my thumb down.

If you're having trouble remembering which way to flick the switch, remember that it operates in the same direction as twisty lights like McGizmo PDs and the Muyshondt Aeon.

This morning, I bought a replacement for the 007 that I sold (thanks Troy). I'm looking forward to using the light once more.

Just use my index finger on my right hand.
Up ( Pull) is Higher, Down ( push) is lower.
up= up
Down = down on intesity.
I do bugger this up on occassion too.

I'm right handed, but my lights are sometimes in the rights and sometimes in the left hand, depends on what I'm just doing.

The problem is, that in one hand it's just the opposite as in the other. I f I have a "normal" light which operated easily enough to use only one hand, I have the same problem, unscrewing the head instead of switching to high... :ohgeez:

If I just have a walk, I take the light in my right hand and it works pretty good after one trial.
