This year my stocking was stuffed with many goodies including a SF EL1 (cree) and some gift cards to a local outdoors store. Of course I was up and out the door early the day after Christmas with those gift cards in hand. While checking out the lights at the store, I noticed that all the SF EL1's on the shelf were not Cree (they were the 15 lumen older model) then noticed that the other recently upgraded models were older models as well.
Maybe to the typical user this is okay, but as an admitted Flashaholic, I was surprised.....good thing my wife knows where to order Surefire online....I would really not be happy with an EL1 15 lumen 1.5 hour runtime.
Beware.....look closely at the package when you buy!
BTW this is a brand new location for this chain of stores so the lights were somewhat recently stocked......not just a few old models left over.
