Hi, I was just curious if anyone might know the value or just how rare/old my older 6p body might be? im curious because Ive never seen a 6p this color before. I dont know how to explain it, its almost like a brown color..

US patent# 6222138 and the number to the left of that I think says a175548

Thanks

Yea I just have the body. Brown was a bad description, its more like a greyish/greenish color.

gunmetal gray is a standard color.
maybe OD HA-III was too at some point?

No, the only standard 6P colours are Black (type II anodised) and Gun Metal (type II anodised). All other colours are special runs.

Here is a picture..

That doesn't look like and "old" classic SF.6P to me. There's a "flat" side to it. Classic "old" ones are simply round.

Thanks, where did you get it?
It looks like the finish has been altered in some way - the Laser etched markings should be a lot more clear, clean and crisp.

I'd check out the bezel and TailCap threads...

That finish looks grainy like HA III
If it is one of the bodies from that re-annodizing run it is HAIII. From what I remember they all came out a lot lighter than SF HAIII OD just like that which is pictured here. It all started when someone wanted their 6p to be HAIII nat instead of HAII black...

agree,
I did some Mags at a "HA natural group thing" and the etching on the head also is "subdued" now. Color seems equal.

PS: that is no "old" body as it has a cutout already, but this one here is soo small, it might still be possible to bore the body to accomodate an 18650 Li-Ion (I just did this to a totally round body).
Better mention that idea, might be easier to find someone that way.

Don't You have original head and tailcap also?
(cuz that different color light would not please my eye)
[edit]imho that natural is one of the greatest colors at all, think of the Triton 1AA lamp. What I not like, is the non matching other parts.
Its also the best for function, as there is no black HA, its natural and then painted black with the paint possibly going off. At least thats what we were told at the "natural HA-III" tread[/edit]

If You have too much time, here are the HA-treads:
1st one (w. pics) that worked: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?p=1137029#post1137029
2nd one where wtraymond never reacted again, with some of us having already sent hosts or money or both: :( http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=114471&highlight=III

The colors look a little different in person, I love the mixture and think it blends very well. I cant think of any other 6p body color that would blend better. This is my favorite flashlight.

Here is another picture, the colors looks goofy in the pictures. You guys really think it looks bad? Ive always thought it looked 100X better then any other 6p but I guess its just personal preference..

Note that there is no such thing as "HAII". It's either Type II, or it is Type III (aka HA)

LOL, How many of your 12000 odd posts have you told people about "HAII", I think probably about 1000 times. :D

Oh, Nice 6P BTW
