I'm very impressed with mine, and will be buying several more. I have the black one now. FYI the threads are tight and the tint is white :)

This thing just reeks of good engineering, and I will feel much better knowing that my close family will have these on their keychains come the holidays and not some cheap one that may or may not work. And if there's a light out there with more bang for the buck I have yet to see it.

From the pics in the iTP review by selfbuilt one could tell that the clip is not meant to be reversed. With the Maratac yes, with the iTP no. Assuming that the Olight is an engineering improvement over the iTP (tailstand, fixed clip, ..) i would still buy the latest version of it (i.e. the Olight) and use a generic clip (check your collection of ball pens!) if a reverse clip is needed for the baseball cap.

1. Are the threads tight? (any head wobble, mode skipping etc?)
2. Is the risk of getting LED with green tint big?
Twisty light with loose threads make me go :hairpull:, and the green tint is just :sick2:.

So any input on those would be greatly appreciated, but if you have any other comments (good or bad) about the light, feel free to share them. :)

i've ordered one as a gift for someone but for myself i still think that the klarus is superior, hmmhh...
 
The klarus uses current regulation. That is rare for AAA lights. Only the Preon Revo has had this too. (as far as I know).
All other AAA lights use PWM.

That is not fully correct.
The ReVO and Klarus drivers are very alike (Probably based on the same circuit) and uses current regulation and does stabilize.
Fenix LD01 uses current regulation and does also stabilize.
The Preon, ITP A3, Titanium Innovation and probably Olight i3 looks like they are all based on the same unregulated circuit with pwm brightness control.
A stabilized light can use pwm (E3A is an example of that).

My mistake... I can see now that the body of the iTp is differently shaped to the Maratc so the clip can't be reversed. I wonder why they did that? So many lights can't reverse clips because of a tiny design issue (the Jetbeam BA10 springs to mind).

The worst thing about the clip on the BA10 is that it looks like it is reversible, so you are tempted to try it. I think 9/10 people are going to try to reverse the clip and will end up just scratching the light like I did. The lights where it's obvious the clip isn't reversible don't bug me as much.

Exactly. I'd rather see it be a purposeful design choice than let the customers have to guess whether it works or not.

I would disagree. I think the ITP is perfect, but Olight made a design error in their keychain attachment point and by using fine-pitch clip screws that easily strip out of the aluminum body. I have 3 ITP and one olight, and much prefer the ITP design.

Having a clip on such a small light seems odd to me, akin to having a clip on a key rather than a hole for a keychain.

I bought a iTP A3 E0S upgraded version. I have had it for about a month and it's the one light that I use every day. It went through the washer because it's so small my wife didn't notice it in my shirt pocket. It didn't miss a beat. I ordered a few of the older versions that are on close out for $15 each and I like the beam better. I wanted to be able to tail stand mine and use it as a night light when needed. (our bedroom is old and the light switch is clear across the room) I just took a dremel tool and ground off the little nipple on the end and painted it black. You would be surprised at how much light this little gem gives in a dark rook. Best $15 lights I know of.

i need to check what "upgraded version" means.. Anyway, do forum rules allow you to name the dealer's website. i wouldnt know where to find it at this low.

i am noticing that the stainless steel version has the Cree XP-G R5 LED:

thanks. that shop has the Ti 3mode even wtih Cree XP-G S2 emitter!!
this means that both Olight releases its version (olight i3 eos, Cree XP-G R5) and at the same time they (Olight!) continue to produce the "iTP" version (olight itp a3 eos .. the Titanium with XP-G S2). that's confusing ;)

find the webpage with the above title. the webmaster's got a typo in the title lol. Its the A3 EOS, though. xp-g s2 model. you can find the true specs (105 lumens!!) on hkequipment.net

Thx you are right, didn't search in the A2 product page.
The above link is only for showing the upgraded model.
I don't have connections to the shop.
There are several other shops like taschenlampen-online.de they have the A3 EOS in Ti with XP-G R5
 
i used to have several itp a3's, sold/given them all away

now i have the olight i2. still pretty small but a huge increase in runtime

will never go back to aaa
 
Olight i3 lighting sequence question

What is the lighting sequence for the AAA Olight i3?

Several CPF posts and the online manual for the Olight i3 indicate a M-H-L lighting sequence.

... Light will enter default medium mode after two seconds of being off.

However, a video review by Going Gear clearly shows a L-M-H sequence.

So which is it? M-H-L or L-M-H?

What, if anything, is the difference between the i3s and i3 EOS?
