Olight i3eos stripping..

I have two , one green and one black . Which I mismatched the head an bodies but I'm looking to strip the anodizing on one. The whole light


How would I go about doing this? I know oven cleaner in the yellow can works but do I need to stick something over the lens so it doesn't get messed up or it's fine?

Also how many times or "passes" will I have to make to fully strip it? Will once do ?

I hear lye and distilled water works though I've never done it, this one I sanded down so not technically stripped.
