I got my M30 on Friday and love the light!! I'm running 2 18500 AW batteries. When powered on there is a pretty distinct buzzing sound, a little louder on high. Is this normal for this light??? Does anyone else have the BUZZZZ?? Thanks!!!!

Mine does that too, it can be annoying but i don't really care if mine does it.

Whine can occur in some LEDs. I've seen identical lights that one of them whines and the others don't. If it annoys you, send it back for a replacement.

I'm a noob so I don't know if maybe it will go away with use. It's not real loud but slightly annoying. Going to contact Battery Junction and see what they say!!

Sorry to say it doesn't go away with use. Please contact BJ and explain that it annoys you and you want an exchange. They're a very reputable store and everything should be fine.

I got mine from battery junction just last week.

Mine buzzes, but it doesn't bother me.

To be honest i thought that they all would, and that it was the design of the circuit

I will call them tomorrow. I guess as long as it doesn't hurt the performance it's really not a big deal. I've just never had a light that that makes the noise and wasn't sure if it was something bad!

Sorry to bring a thread back from the past, but I just started using my M30 with 2X18650s vice 3Xcr123s. The buzzing is now there as desribed in this thread. Has anyone had a long term problem with the M30 in the 2X18650 configuation?

There's a thread on a Quark that had the inductor whine, now an Olight with the same buzzing sound. Same batch of inductors from Quark n Olight? Just my wild guessing. :)

I have two Olight M20s and both buzz. I don't think it's a problem, though I'd like to hear from folks who have M20s.

My first SR51 started to switch to low all by itself and developed an annoying buzz and flicker both on high and low. Quality (AW2900) cells didn't correct this, emailed GG and they sent a replacement no problem. New one is working fine so far.
